A Very Odd Day in an Airplane
The story Solutions to Saturdays Puzzle by David Sedaris is about an experience he
had with this lady in an airplane. In the story he explains how he and the lady sitting next to him
had already been in a fight. Also how he can feel the hatred she has toward him because of
something he didnt want to do. He explains that the lady before boarding in the plane was with a
guy who was probably her husband. Then she asks David if he could switch seats with her
husband but David said no because he didnt like those seats from the plane. From that point on
the lady was very mean towards him and also he went towards her husband and loudly she called
David an asshole because he didnt want to switch seats. He recalls that mostly a lot of people
heard and stared at him but for him he felt kind of embarrassed but at the same time he felt that it
wasnt his fault. He knew that it wasnt his fault because he knew he was a gentlemen but
because he knew that the seat where the ladys husband was didnt have enough space to move
your legs around he didnt like that. What he didnt like was that she wasnt polite about it when
he thought about changing the seats she had attitude towards him. That was how he started doing
puzzles and he started writing down words that came up to his mind but would fit in the squares.
Overall this plane flight for David was not great because of the attitude of the lady and because
of what she called him.
