GEORGE FOR ASIAN CLAMS

Assemblyman Dan Stec (R,C,I-Queensbury) poses with Dave Wick of the Lake George
Park Commission and Erin Vennie-Vollrath of the Adirondack Park Invasive Plant
Program as they search for Asian clams on August 28 in Lake George
Assemblyman Dan Stec (R,C,I-Queensbury), along with members of the Lake
George Park Commission, including Executive Director Dave Wick, participated in a
survey last Friday to determine the extent of the Asian clam problem in Lake George.
Stec has championed the fight against the spread of invasive aquatic species and currently
serves as Ranking Minority Member of the Assemblys Committee on Environmental
Conservation.
The spread of invasive aquatic species has become a serious concern in the
North Country and has been one of my top priorities since my time as Queensbury Town
Supervisor, Stec said. Fortunately, in this years budget we secured $5.8 million to fund
the Invasive Species Advisory Council, $450,000 of which will go directly to Lake
George.
