(ii) Rationale for the Selection of Media And Materials (20%)-(Individual work)

To ensure quality instruction, it is important for teachers to analyze the

appropriateness of the media and materials that have been selected for use for a
specific lesson. Individually, justify the selection of the media and materials as
described in the instructional plan designed in Part A (i). Your justification should
cover analysis on the effect of the media and materials relative to target audience,
chosen topic, teaching methods as well as classroom setting, technical and cost
issues.
This lesson is prepared for students in a year 1 class. This class has a
population of 35 pupils. There are 12 boys and 15 girls in the class. Approximately
80 percent of the pupils are able to do following which can understand English very
well and know how to use computer and the rest 20 percent of the pupils have
average proficiency of English language. So that, I have put a lot of enrichment
activities on my media such as make a dialogue using the topic colours for the good
student and for the average students they can try the matching activities. For the
objective, I have follow the A, B, C, Ds law which is for A- Audience: the students, BBehavior: say aloud, answer, and identify, C- condition: types of colours and DDegree: at least 6. I have select available materials such as Power Point slide and
modify existing materials, or design new materials to help accomplish this task. I also
select several different types of media to use with the unit such as using a text book
and white board to teach this topic. The seating will be arranged so that all students
will have a clear view of the projection. The speakers will be place in an area where
all the students will be able to hear the sound clearly.
