The lazy bear

It s spring in the forest. The grass and the leaves are growing, and the animals are
waking up.
Bruno, the bear, is still asleep. He doesn t know it s spring. He is still snoring.
Now it s summer. It s warm and the animals are having lots of fun. Bruno likes to
play and swim with his friends. But where is he?

What did you have to prepare for today? Which was your homework?

Our today`s lesson will be one of revision. We will revise Present Tense Simple and Continuous.
Atat prezentul simplu, cat si prezentul continuu, arata faptul ca actiunea se desfasoara la timpul
present, verbul este la timpul present. Spre deosebire de lb rom unde in care vb are un sg fel de prez,
in engl avem 2 tipuri de prez, in English we have two types of present tense, PTS and PTC. Which is
the difference between these two? Let`s remember. First of all, we will read a text. In this text we
have verbs at Present Tense simple and continuous. ( pun textul ) Our text is called ``The lazy bear``.
Before reading the text, I want you to tell me the meaning of these words. Which is the Romanian
word for lazy. Write into your notebooks. Citim textul si il traducem.
The bear from our story sleeps a lot. Do you like to sleep a lot? What time do you usually go to
bed? Do you have any special teddy bears that you like to sleep with? Do you wake up earli in the
morning? Who wakes up early in the morning? Go to the blackboard and write. I wake up early in
the morning. I don`t wake up early in the morning. What do you usually do after you wake up? (I
brush my teeth, I have breakfast, I do my homework) Ok, very well, so,these are actons that you do
every day, you repeat them. This is what present tense shows, a repeated, habitual action.

Let`s take an example from our text: Bruno likes to sleep a lot. (He usually likes to do that). Which is

form of this sentence?

happening at the moment of speaking, we use Present Continuous Tense.
