Call for the international conference

The EU as a model of soft power in the Eastern neighbourhood

Participants from all over the European Union and the Eastern
neighbouring countries + professors + international experts + PhD
candidates, post-doc fellows, MA students, civil society activists, NGO
leaders, consultants, policy advocates and many more.
Three days of sharing the latest academic research results, excellent
networking opportunities, helping to create links for future
cooperation between EU and non-EU countries (Eastern Partnership
states).
Establishing dialogue between PEOPLE, exchanging IDEAS and
creating a new generation of SPECIALISTS in various European issues
are the main objectives of our conference.
We are pleased to announce the call for the international conference
The EU as a model of soft power in the Eastern neighbourhood,
which welcomes contributions on the following four research areas:
1. The EU as regional and global player. Cooperation or geopolitical
competition?;
2. The EU "transformative power" in the neighbourhood;
3. The Eastern Partnership (EaP) looking forward: achievements
and future;
4. Challenging the EUs economic credentials.

Important deadlines:
- Online registration and submission of abstracts: March 1, 2013
- Notification of acceptance or rejection: March 8, 2013
- Full paper submission: April 22, 2013

Conference fee:
75 EURO per participant (max. 2 papers per participant as author or coauthor). Registration is effective after full receipt of payment. The
submitter must be (one of) the presenting author(s). All future
correspondence will in fact be sent to the submitter. The fee covers
maps, meals, conference materials.

Publication:
The presented papers will benefit from publication in the two journals
indexed in international databases edited by the Jean Monnet Centre of
Excellence for European Studies:
- Eastern Journal of European Studies (EJES);
- CES Working Papers.
