You will be given time in class to complete this assessment during week 8.
Task 1 Measuring Economic Growth and Development

(20 marks)

You will be required to investigate methods of measuring Economic Growth and Development.
For each economic indicator, you will need to identify and describe two measures.
Task 2 Fact Sheet

(40 marks)

Present a fact sheet on the economies and development levels of ONE developed country and ONE
less developed country.
For each one of your selected countries, you are to produce a statistical analysis (e.g. a table) which
compares and contrasts their economic growth.
-Your analysis should compare the countries based on:
- Land Area, Population, GDP, GDP/Capita, Resources
- You must include these five characteristics for comparison.
For each of your selected nations produce a summary (1- 1/2pages) which describe the economic
growth levels that have been achieved, the main industries which exist and the main factors that
have inhibited/generated economic growth in that country .

Task 3 Recommendation

(20 Marks)

In a short report, provide a recommendation to the government of the less developed country about
what measures could be implemented to achieve economic growth and development in the future.
