This unit is for the SGLM module students of the


high level vocational degree on computer
science, in Monte Naranco High school.
In this high school most of the students belong to
a medium-low social class, and nearly 30% are
inmigrants.
JUSTIFICATION

WE HAVE CHOSEN THIS UNIT


BECAUSE IS INTERESTING FOR
THE STUDENTS TO HAVE A
KNOWLEDGE OF THE
COMPOSITION OF THE SALARY
AND THE BASIC CONCEPTS
ABOUT IT. NEGOTIATION OF THE
SALARY IS IMPORTANT AS WELL.

THIS IS UNIT NUMBER 4 OF A


TOTAL OF 15. THE UNIT BELONGS
TO THE FIRST 7 UNITS OF THE
COURSE DEALING WITH
WORKING CONDITIONS.
METHODOLOGY

Following the methodology policy of the vocational training


courses, the use of training activities will be encouraged,
and theoretical lessons would be kept to a minimum.

To support the oral discourse and help with the
understanding of some words, visual resources such
as pictures and PowerPoint presentations will be used.

ACTIVITIES:
In this unit there will be three main activities in addition to the
questions formulated during the presentation.
1. This first activity will reinforce the students knowledge of
the salary structure as well as the appropriate vocabulary.
2. Using the role play activity we develop spoken discourse,
and negotiation skills, as well as the use of theory and
vocabulary of the unit

3.The aim of this activity is to help the understanding of the


important issues of the topic and the use of online dictionaries
to explain some terms.
TIMING:
FIVE LESSONS.
- 2 FIRST LESSONS WILL BE A
MIXTURE OF THEORY AND
QUESTIONS ABOUT THE
EXPLANATION GIVEN.
- 2 OTHER LESSONS TO DO THE
ACTIVITIES IN CLASS
- 1 EXAM IN THE LAST SESSION.
ASSESSMENT
50% EVALUATION OF THE GIVEN
COMPETENCES FOR EACH ACTIVITY.

35% MORE SPECIFIC EVALUATION OF


THE KNOWLEDGE THROUGH A FINAL
EXAM

ACTIVE PARTICIPATION IN CLASS 15%
