Also known as hollow flight dryer
Can be used by using single screw or

two to four hollow helical screws.

Can handle solids that are too fine
and too sticky for rotary dryer.

PRINCIPLE
Indirectly transfers heat from the heat

transfer agents to the material by

conduction.
The heat transfer areas are covered with
the material being processed, and therefore
the thermal efficiency is the much higher
than other types of heat exchangers.
The moving solid particles changes location
and have physical contact with the walls
and screw.
