LearningObjective
Thiscourseisanactivityclassforprovidingstudentswiththebasicskillsandknowledge
requiredtoplay,officiateandcoachanintroductorylevelofvolleyball.Emphasisisonbasic
fundamentalskills,rules/terminologies,teamoffense/defensedrills,andgamesituational
strategies.Studentswilllearntoexecutebasicssuchaspassing,setting,serving,andhitting,
becomefamiliarwithgameterms,andpracticefairplay,sportsmanship,andteamwork.

Content
1. Toprovideknowledge,understanding,andappreciationtothegameofvolleyball.
2. Todevelopsatisfactorycompetencyinbasicskillssuchasbodyposture,forearmpass,
serveandservereception,overheadpass,attack,block,andgamesituational
strategies.
3. Toprovidecontentsandmethodsrequiredtoplayvolleyballatanintroductorylevel.
4. Toprovideexperienceingamesituations.
5. Tobefamiliarwithoffensiveanddefensivestrategiesandabletoexecutethemingame
situations.
6. Tolayafoundationformoreadvancedstudyofvolleyball.
7. Toexploreavarietyofcareeroptionsintheareaofvolleyballandrecreation.
