CODE OF ETHICS FOR THE TEACHING PROFESSION

 You are required to refer to the "Teacher's Oath"

text in order to obtain all the relevant facts.
Teaching ethics is based on the text of the
"Teacher's Oath' which suggested that teachers need
to carry out duties of the profession to a high level of
ethical and moral conduct from the various aspects:

Lebih mengutamakan kebajikan dan keselamatan

pelajar daripada hal-hal lain.
(Prioritize students' welfare and safety more than other
matters)

Bersikap adil terhadap setiap orang pelajar tanpa

mengira faktor-faktor jasmani, mental, emosi,
politik, ekonomi, sosial, keturunan atau agama.
(Execute fairness towards every student regardless of physical,
mental, emotional, political, economical, social, ethnic or
religious factors)

able to respect older people, and also to consider religious and cultural

Mengelakkan diri drp membuat sebarang kenyataan atau

ulasan yang boleh mencemarkan nama baik seseorang guru di
hadapan pelajar atau ibu bapa atau berbuat sesuatu yang boleh
menjatuhkan maruah seseorang guru.
(Take care of and show respect for personal dignity, and for the
diversity found among staff members, and to resolve matters collegially)

Tidak melibatkan diri dalam kegiatan yang boleh menjejaskan

kecekapan sebagai seorang guru.

(Do not get involved in activities which can jeopardize teaching

career).

Berusaha dengan sepenuhnya menunaikan tanggungjawab,

(Make efforts to fulfil responsibilities in the teaching profession)

Sentiasa membantu rakan sejawat terutamanya bagi yang

baru menceburkan diri dalam profesion perguruan.
(Always be ready to render assistance to colleagues)

Sentiasa mengawasi diri agar tidak mencemarkan nama baik

profesion perguruan.

(Always pay attention to, control and refrain oneself from bad

The philosophy contained in the "Teacher's Oath"

forms the determining basics for the teacher's
ethics. It includes code of behaviour and teacher
personality, role and responsibility, as well as
characteristics and personal qualities of teachers.
Teachers should possess creditable personality and
high professional capability so as to fulfil their
responsibilities thoroughly and effectively.
