Abstract
This part includes design and required consideration of mooring facilities. These facilities are such
as gravity type quay walls, sheet pile quay walls, sheet pile quay walls with relieving platform,
steel sheet pile cellular-bulkhead quay walls, steel plate cellular-bulkhead quay walls, open-type
wharves on vertical piles, open-type wharves on coupled raking piles, detached pier, floating piers,
Dolphins, slipways and shallow draft quays, air-cushion vehicle landing facilities, mooring buoys
and mooring posts, quay wall of wave-absorbing type, cantilever sheet pile quay wall, sheet pile
quay wall with batter anchor piles, sheet pile quay wall with batter piles in front, double sheet pile
quay wall, ancillary facilities (mooring posts, bollards, and mooring rings, fender systems and etc.),
aprons and foundation for cargo handling equipment. For each one, also, required consideration of
dimensions, protection against scouring and stability are presented.
