Tau
Alumni
and
Family,
Exciting
things
are
happening
for
our
historic
chapter!
We
are
innovating
and
creating
new
ways
every
year
to
maintain
our
heritage
and
history.
Previously,
Tau
Chapter
used
concessions
as
a
viable
funding
source
to
cover
all
of
our
expenses.
We
used
this
money
to
help
fund
all
of
our
events,
such
as
Founders
Day
Weekend,
SFK,
Firemans
Dinner,
Annual
Easter
Egg
Hunt,
the
entire
initiate
program
and
many
others.
However,
stricter
risk
management
policies
have
been
put
in
place
recently
and
Tau
Chapter
is
unable
to
continue
doing
concessions.
In
effort
to
combat
these
changes,
Tau
Chapter
utilizes
all
means
of
finding
sources
through
our
aggressive
fundraising
committee,
Student
Government
Association
appropriations,
and
adhering
to
a
stricter
budget.
However,
without
concession,
we
are
having
trouble
generating
enough
funds
to
put
together
incredible
events.
In
result,
Tau
Chapter
has
begun
an
alumni
donations
program
through
East
Carolina
University
and
we
are
seeking
additional
funding
for
our
chapter!
As
an
alumni
donor,
you
will
have
a
unique
opportunity
to
give
back
to
our
distinguished
fraternity
and
help
fund
all
our
future
endeavors.
Every
donation
is
tax-deductible,
and
is
used
to
help
a
specific
need
of
the
chapter.
We
appreciate
any
amount
given,
as
all
of
it
will
help
better
the
fraternity
financially.
In
this
packet
you
will
find
all
the
necessary
information
to
make
a
donation.
Because
all
donations
can
be
given
through
ECUs
website,
donating
will
be
quick
and
easy.
We
also
have
several
benefits
that
you
will
receive
depending
on
the
amount
you
give.
Fraternally,
David

Whether

can
be
sustained
through
the
generosity
and

of

Endowment Chapter Scholarships
Richard C. Todd and Clauda Pennock Todd Leadership Scholarship is
awarded to all members of the Executive Council. It is given in recognition of
the dedication, service, and leadership portrayed by Brothers elected to serve
on Executive Council.
The Carl S. Miller and Susan Zagiba Scholarship is awarded to a student in
financial need who is an Active Member of Tau Chapter. Leah and D.J. were
Initiate Brothers and Officers together and this Scholarship is supposed to
represent unity in Brotherhood for both the best of times and through the
worst of times. The Scholarship celebrates Carl S. Miller's devotion to
educational pursuits and his vast heart in helping those who may need a
lending hand.
Annual Events
Easter Egg Hunt- Every year, Tau chapter puts on a remarkable Easter egg
hunt for the children of the Pitt country. We provide all the supplies and labor
for the hunt and games.
Firemens Dinner- To show our appreciation for the firemen of Pitt county,
Tau holds an annual firemans dinner. We provide food for the one of the fire
stations each year.
Trunk or Treat- Trunk or Treat is another way we to give back to the
neighboring communities of ECU by providing a safe place for teachers,
students, and families to come and celebrate Halloween. Very similar to the
Easter Egg Hunt, we provide all the supplies need to hold the event.
Founders Day- Tau Chapter observes our Founders Day with a big
celebratory weekend. We hold several events including our traditional pig
pickin, the elegant banquet and alumni cookout.
Alumni Tailgate- We encourage our brothers to reach out to alumni by
holding a tailgate for Taus Alumni. We provide all of the food free of charge
for the alumni.
Initiate Program- This fraternity will not survive without our ability to recruit
the brightest students. By investing in our initiate program, we are investing
in Taus future.
