INVESTIGATIVE PROJECT : During planning stage, you will be gathering and organizing writing ideas. When you are planning your investigative Project, you may wish to use graphic organizers like outline, Source Card, and Note cards. DO PRELIMINARY RESEARCH After you have chosen a topic for your investigation, do some prelimitary research. Look up your topic in a reference work, such as newspaper, online news or any formal statistic document, to find general information. Then find additional information by conducting text searches online. A MAJOR RESEARCH FORMULATE QUESTION : Write questions about your topic that you would like to answer in your Project. You might find it helpful to use questions that begin with words such as: Who, what, when, where, why and how . WRITE A RESEARCH PLAN: Having done preliminary research and formulated your major reserch question, search the internet for potential sources for your topic. Compile a list of online sites and print books to investigate further. Include both print and digital sources. Additionally you should look for evidence from experts.
