Introduction

Coping skills are those skills that we use to offset disadvantages in


day to day life. Coping skills can be seen as a sort of adaptation, such

as the finely tuned hearing that many visually impaired people develop.

Coping skills can be positive or negative. Positive coping skills help us


get through situations at nearly the same level as those who do not
have the disadvantage. Negative coping skills, however, may provide
short-term relief or distraction, but ultimately worsen our
disadvantage.

Description of Course

This course is designed for parents, educators and

counsellors who have a natural desire of helping adolescents


to cope in very stressful time of their lives.

The goal is to develop character strength, promote positive


communication and relationships and to help adolescents
relax and find successful ways in resolving their problems.

Delivery Modality and Length of


Course

This is a six weeks


program that is done
face-to-face in a
classroom setting.

It is 4 hours per day for 3


consecutive days for the
week.

Objectives
