What are we learning?

Reading: We are building our reading stamina
in second grade! Read to self was introduced
and our students are able to read for 6
minutes independently. We will continue to
focus on good fit books and building stamina
with our reading!
Writing: Second graders are learning about 5
star writing and making a list of their small
moments:

Example: Holding my new puppy for the first

time.

Math: We are exploring the idea of place

value focusing on the ones, tens and hundreds
place and understanding even and odd
numbers.

Words: Words come home on Monday and our
test will be on Friday. Words can also be
