Pursuant to the state public records law, M.G.L., Ch. 68, sec. 10 and the applicable regulations, 950
CMR. 32.01-09, Irequest access to and copies of the following records:
* _ All records related to the recently completed internal investigation involving the July 26, 2015
incident relating to Officer Stephen LeBert (as announced in a press release issued Sept. 9 from
the office of Medford Mayor Michael J. McGlynn — see attached), including, without limitation, all
complaints, interviews, witness interview summaries, officer's reports, conclusions, and
recommendations. (See Worcester Telegram & Gazette Corporation v. Chief of Police of
Worcester, & another, 58 Mass. App. Ct. 1 (2003).)
+ Allrecords relating to the disciplinary hearing for Officer LeBert, as announced by Mayor Michael
J. MoGlynn in a press release issued Sept. 9 (attached) — including, without limitation, all records
submitted in connection with the disciplinary hearing and all records that will be provided to the
disciplinary hearing officer/committee.
| request that these records be made available in electronic format, to the extent possible.
If you claim that any record is exempt from disclosure, in whole or in part, please provide a detailed
explanation of the exemption on which your office relies and the nature of the material for which any
‘exemption is claimed.
lam a representative of the news media, affiliated with the Medford Transcript, and make this request as
part of news gathering. | request a waiver of all fees, as allowed for by the state statute, because the
disclosure of the requested records is in the public interest. Nonetheless, | am willing to pay reasonable
fees for this request, up to $20. if you estimate that the fees will exceed this amount, please let me
know.
The law requires your office to provide a response to this request “without unreasonable delay,” and in
any event within 10 days of this request. If you have any questions regarding this request, please don't
