After Using the Pit Expansion Tool
and Creating a Surface You have the Surface of a Pit mine with Benches and Roads.
Unfortunately This Pit Surface Will Fit the
Existing Topography Only By Chance As can be Seen when both Surfaces are Turned on, The pit may Well extend Above the Existing topo Surface.
The Objective is to Have a Complete Single
Topo Surface with the Pit in Place We start by Creating A geometry Object to hold A merged Single surface
Make This New Surface the Open
Edit Object (you highlight The file and Right click to Bring up the Pop-up menu Then you Highlight and Left click edit)
Next Go to the Surface Tab and Pick the
Intersect Surfaces Tool from the Drop Down Menu
The Intersect Surfaces Tool Dialog
Box Opens You need to Pick the Surfaces you Will work with. If they are by Themselves in A file you can Use the red Button object To pick them In the menu Editor. The blue worm Picks them on The screen.
Pick the Undisturbed Topo as
Primary Left click the blue Worm by primary Then left click Anywhere on the Topo surface A pretty yellow box Appears around Your selection.
Right Click On Your Mouse to
Complete the Selection The box around The surface Turns blue And the name of The surface Appears on The primary Surfaces line. Now pick the Blue worm and Go after the Pit surface as The secondary Surface.
