This presentation contains screen shots of the program MineSight developed
by Mintec Inc. The process shown can also be found described in some
Mintec Literature.

After Using the Pit Expansion Tool

and Creating a Surface
You have the
Surface of a
Pit mine with
Benches and
Roads.

Unfortunately This Pit Surface Will Fit the

Existing Topography Only By Chance
As can be
Seen when both
Surfaces are
Turned on,
The pit may
Well extend
Above the
Existing topo
Surface.

The Objective is to Have a Complete Single

Topo Surface with the Pit in Place
We start by
Creating
A geometry
Object to hold
A merged
Single surface

Make This New Surface the Open

Edit Object
(you highlight
The file and
Right click to
Bring up the
Pop-up menu
Then you
Highlight and
Left click edit)

Next Go to the Surface Tab and Pick the

Intersect Surfaces Tool from the Drop Down
Menu

The Intersect Surfaces Tool Dialog

Box Opens
You need to
Pick the
Surfaces you
Will work with.
If they are by
Themselves in
A file you can
Use the red
Button object
To pick them
In the menu
Editor.
The blue worm
Picks them on
The screen.

Pick the Undisturbed Topo as

Primary
Left click the blue
Worm by primary
Then left click
Anywhere on the
Topo surface
A pretty yellow box
Appears around
Your selection.

Right Click On Your Mouse to

Complete the Selection
The box around
The surface
Turns blue
And the name of
The surface
Appears on
The primary
Surfaces line.
Now pick the
Blue worm and
Go after the
Pit surface as
The secondary
Surface.
