The Problem of Private Property in Administering Political Affairs

According to Plato the God who fashioned us mixed gold in the composition of those
who are fit to rule. Plato also said that they must not posses any private property beyond the
barest necessaries and no one is to have any dwelling or store - houses that are not open for all
to enter at will. Because if they ever come to posses lands of their own and houses and money,
they will give up being a ruler so they could manage their lands, houses and their money and
therefore they will become tyrants an enemy of the state and their fellow citizens then they will
live their lives in hating and being hated, plotting and being plotted by their fellow citizen.
If we would examine the politicians in the Philippines we would see the truth on the
words of Plato. Our politicians now acquire private properties, they have millions of or even
billions of money they have extravagant houses scattered all over the country this things are
beyond their necessities. These politicians live in luxury because they are now abusing their
power instead of being just a good ruler they become tyrants they become the enemy of the
citizens and the state itself because instead of securing the greatest possible happiness for the
community they just make this one class especially happy, their class specifically. These tyrant
rulers are robbing the money of our country leaving our citizens in poverty. lacking in the
essential aspects needed for life like food, clothes, education and shelter. The Philippine
population is now living below the poverty line because of them. I know that there is no such
thing as a perfect world it only exists in Platos mind. But just think of a defenseless child die so
that this favored rulers who are fashioned by god can live in a life of luxury, doing anything
they please is just simply unfair and horrible.
I really hope that in the near future all Filipinos would realize that we should start to do
something already. We should all start to fight this tyranny and prevent the thing that leads our
rulers to become tyrants so that we could progress and end the suffering they cause on our

fellow citizens. As for our rules I hope that they will have the knowledge and the ideal heart
make all the citizens happy and contented
300 Rise of an Empire
The story 300 Rise of an Empire takes action to a fresh battlefield on the sea as Greek
general Themistokles attempts to unite all of Greece by leading the charge that will change the
course of war. Themistokles against the massive invading Persian forces led by mortal turned
god Xerxes, and Artemisia a vengeful commander of the Persian navy.
In this movie I was amazed on how different Spartan families are from that of Ancient
Greek city-states. The Spartan life was all about self denial and simplicity their children were
children of the state more than of their parents. They were raised to be soldiers specially the
boys, loyal to the state strong and self-disciplined also the woman in Sparta enjoyed much
greater freedom and independence in Sparta than any other Greek city-states. Spartan women
are also allowed to transact their own affairs. This is very different from Athens which deals
political problems trough a system called direct democracy in which the participating citizens
voted directly on legislation and executive bills but this privilege of democratic citizenship is only
granted to the elite class of adult free men and excludes slaves and women from participating in
any political affairs. Athenian children spent the majority time with their mother, girls receive their
entire education at home while the boys on the other hand learn their fathers trade or go to
school.
After assessing the two I realize that the Spartan way of living was the realization of
Platos perfect society where men and women are equal and children are children of the state
who are mold to become a citizen that is loyal to the state except that Sparta is not ruled by
philosopher kings. Athens on the other hand was the society Aristotle wants a society where
men dominates and women are just important because of their capability of bearing children.
