Adaptation to America

In the America poem by Ricardo Blanco, I being the reader of this

fascinating poem, I was intrigued in a way where I was able to relate to the
poem and remember back to my Thanksgiving dinner with my family. This
poem is great for anyone for they may be able to get the proper details and
ideas of how such a culture expresses and incorporates their language,
music, and overall being there as a family reuniting with one another. This
poem gives you the proper approach from someone who is a part of this
Culture. The author/poet shares his experiences of how a family interacts
and the customs they are used to for special gathering dinners. He shares
with the reader of the culture they come to learn here in America, and the
significant events that have occurred here in the states. They are the second
generation of a Central American family, where the parents struggle with
learning the English language. This is an experience from a different angle, a
whole different approach to a person whose origins are not from here. This
story can be relatable to many for here in the states we have many
undocumented families who share the same experiences having to come
here at an early age and adapt and reform to a new culture which is not their
primary one.
