Downtown Caseworker
Downtown LA is one of the most dynamic and exciting neighborhoods in Los Angeles.
Councilmember Huizars Downtown team works on a range of issues dealing with
planning, land-use, economic development, policy, constituency work, public
infrastructure projects and transportation solutions.
The Downtown Caseworker should be an equally dynamic individual that relates well
with people, can work well independently as well as collaborate with a team. We are
seeking a self-starter that has a desire to learn the inner-workings of the City and can
commit a large amount of time to a fast-paced political environment.

Maintain a comprehensive contact
management system that tracks all
contact with constituents and
constituent requests
Communications
Helps with Downtown Weekly ENewsletter

In charge of weekly written

communication that gets sent to
constituents
Staffing
Will staff Councilmember Huizar at
various community events

Expected Outcomes
- Will be able to assist constituent with needs 80% of the time
- 95% of all constituency requests will have follow up within
48 hours.
- 95% of all constituent/stakeholder contact will be tracked
through the contact management system

- Assists Downtown Field Deputy in creating and sending a

comprehensive weekly newsletter that both visually and
substantively reflects the lifestyle preferences and
informational needs of Downtown constituents. Creates a
robust picture of the Councilmembers work in Downtown.
- Strategically send out written letter communication from the
Councilmember to Downtown constituents, informing them
of our work in Downtown.
-Prepare talking points for event
-Arrange with event organizers the Councilmembers arrival
and event logistics
-Get to event early, keep Councilmember updated on turnout,
media etc.
-Meet Councilmember at event, introduce him to
stakeholders, manage his time, etc.
