Amaia Montero

Amaia Montero was born in Irun, Guipzcoa, on August 26, 1976.


She use to be very quiet, except for the fact that she used to love
music and dreamed to became in a singer someday.
Amaia used to study chemical, but the she changed her career and
start to study psychology. One day she met a group of friends, who
was looking for a female vocalist for their band. When they listened
her sing in a party, they immediately incorporate her to his band.
The band was Oreja de Van Gogh, one of the biggest groups of
Spanish music scene in recent times.
Amaia Montero used to record with La Oreja De Van Gogh a lot of
singles and albums, for example "Tell the Sun", "The Journey of
Copperpot", "What I told you while you were doing the sleeping" and
"Beautiful".
In November 2008, Montero releases her first solo work. The album
was titled: "Amaia Montero", an album in which dominates the sound
of guitars and includes eleven compounds by the artist issues.
In this first work, Amaia Montero has been involved in the entire
creative process, from composition to the final mixes. The production
of the album has been done by Claudio Guidetti. The recordings were
made in Genoa and Milan and mixtures in Los Angeles.
