NUTCRACKER SYSTEM ADJUSTMENT / TEST
1. Nutcracker Switch Adjustment
A. Procedure
WARNING:

BEFORE WORKING IN ANY WHEEL WELL, ENSURE THAT ALL LANDING GEAR
AND LANDING GEAR DOOR SAFETY DEVICES ARE INSTALLED.

(1) Jack aircraft until wheels are clear of ground (shock struts fully extended), see Aircraft Jacking,
07-01-00, System Description for jacking instructions.
(2) Remove electrical power from aircraft.
(3) Lower aircraft by lowering jacks until shock strut is compressed 1 1/4 1/4 inch from the fully
extended condition. Lock jack in place.
(4) Disconnect nutcracker switch electrical connector at bracket above structural post in wheel well.
(5) Adjust nutcracker switch by tightening and loosening switch jam nut until switch actuates (as
indicated by test meter showing continuity between pins D and F of connector). The cam
follower (wheel on switch) must be aligned fore and aft during and after adjustment. With jam
nuts tightened, safety wire jam nuts together.
CAUTION:

CARE MUST BE EXERCISED TO ENSURE SAFETY LOCK ON ELECTRICAL


HARNESS
IS
POSITIVELY
CHECKED
FOR
SECURITY AFTER
RECONNECTION IN THIS STEP. IF SAFETY LOCK IS NOT ENGAGED, IT WILL
BE EVIDENCED BY FAILURE TO SEE THE TWO LOCKPINS OR A LOOSE
COLLAR.

(6) Connect electrical connector above structural post.


WARNING:

ENSURE THAT ALL LANDING GEAR AND LANDING GEAR DOOR SAFETY
DEVICES ARE INSTALLED.

(7) Lower aircraft, see Aircraft Jacking, 07-01-00, System Description.


(8) Record all maintenance actions in accordance with current Federal Aviation Regulations.
