Alex Garland directed this movie which is odd as he is usually a writer than a director as this is the
only film he has directed. The other films he has written are: Dredd, 28 days later and The beach. I
would say that he is a fully creditable writer because of the success of his other screen plays.

Marketing (teaser trailers, posters, websites etc)- One odd bit of marketing for there film that they
did is that they made tinder accounts for the robot actor Alicia Vikander under the character name
Ava. They did also use teaser trailers and full movie trailers. There was also a website made for the
film in which you can do Ava sessions which are taken from the film and also view full information
on the film.
SFX- For the movie not a whole lot of SFX were used, for the filming of Ava the main robot they
used a suit that the actor Alicia Vikander wore and this made her body look as the director wanted
it to. But for scenes in the movie like replacing her arm they had to use special fx to make it look as
if she had no arm and they were replacing a new one. Also when making the film they didn't want
to be like a robot but instead a cyborg so this is why she has such humanistic qualities, but she
does have translucent body part like her stomach, to be able to do this they had to edit this in
afterward they used body tracking in which the software tracks the part of the body through a part
of footage and puts in the wanted SFX.
