After activating this communication system, users who operated the alarm (inside the lift or in tne lit well) need to do nathing else. Beside what is in compliance with harmonised standard EN8!1, itis also possible to call rom outside (for ex. the emergency service) the lift where the alarm has been activated ( it car, lft well, roof of the lif} to speak with people there Furthermore a relay contact is available to operate by remote control the opening of the gate or the entrance door to the building where the lifts, by selecting a fixed code, ‘The complete kit consists of: = one central unit (MOX unit) wiring equipped for installation on the roof of the lift cab in an easily, accessible position (see Annex 4, page 20): The unit includes a push-button for contacting the ‘emergency service, a microphone and a speaker for talking and listening respectively, a circuit board and accessories allowing the system to be connected to the telephone line, an additional module installed inside the lift and @ secondary unit inside the lift well, = asecondary unit for installation in the lift well in an easily accessible position, The unit includes a push-button for contacting the emergency service, a microphone and @ speaker for talking and listening respectively. This unit must be connected to the unit on the roof of the lift by a six-core flexible cable; - an additional module consisting of a base unit with microphone and speaker. This is normally installed behind the push-bution panel and grill inside the lift (or in @ position enabling the occupants of the lift to use the microphone and the speaker). This module must be connected to the unit mounted on the roof Of the lift cab through the shielded cable supplied, = aprogrammer unit, consisting of a keyboard and display, used to: ‘select the type of telephone line (multi-frequency or less frequently decadic) enter the number of the DTMF code digits and the code itself, enter the telephone numbers of the emergency service in succession (maximum 4 numbers), record the message to transit to the users requiring assistance while the telephone call is being made, and record the message to transit to the emergency service when it receives the ‘emergency call, See configuration in Annex 2, page 18. ‘The central unit can periorm all these functions without the secondary unit in the lift car and the additional module in the lift well. It can therefore be installed independently without any detriment to its operation and integrity “The shiekied cable connecting the unit on the roof of the lift to the additional module inside the lift * carries” the voice information and links the alarm button in the lft with the MOX unit, ‘The six-core flexible shield connecting the MOX unit on the roof of the lift to the secondary unit in the lit well, “carries” the voice information and links the push-button an the box of the secondary unit in the lft well, to the MOX unit The alarm system must be supplied by an emergency power supply (emergency battery) that can be the same as the one for the emergency light in the lit car or 2 power supply with similar characteristics. For devices connections see Annex 3, page 19, {mn case of several lift systems linked to the same assigned telephone line, itis necessary to insert a telephone exchange among the various MOX units and the assigned telephone line. If required, IGV can supply a telephone exchange to connect up to 6 MOX units to the assigned telephone line. TG.V. spa, Vis Bi Vitro 21, 20060 Vignate- Milano laly. SYSTEM OPERATION The system can be activated = from inside the lft by pressing the alarm button for at least 3 seconds, + from the roof of the lift and from the well by pressing, for at least 3 seconds, the button on the box housing the units Pressing the activation button for at least 3 seconds automatically switches the voice unit to the unit or the module without needing to perform any other action. The voice link will therefore be possible only from and with the unit or module where the system was activated ‘The operation of the system is displayed on the main circuit board of the MOX unit by LED1 which flashes once every half second (see Annex 1, page 17). After the alarm button has been pressed for at least 3 seconds, the lift occupants, or the operator on the roof or in the well, will hear @ short message previously recorded. At the end of the message, the telephone line is switched-in and the first programmec telephone number is dialled ‘A second message previously recorded is sent along the telephone line (though this time not to the lift cab ‘or well) to assist the emergency service locate the source of the call before talking to the caller, or for any other motive. At the end of this second message, there is a pause of around three seconds during which the emergency service must send the DTMF code to confirm/accept the call If the system does not receive the DTMF code or the wrong cade is sent, after three seconds the message is retransmitted and the cycle repeated, The entire cycle takes approximately 90 seconds, after which the telephone line is automatically cut-off and the second programmed number dialled. After having tried 4 programmed numbers, the system starts again from the first number and restarts the cycle for 16 minutes. Afterwards the Mox system is deactivated and it is possible to activate it once again, by pressing the alarm button The personalised DTMF codes: = allow communication to be established, through a direct voice link, between the emergency service land the occupants of the lift who activated the alarm. = allow a luminous alarm signal to be activated in the lft cab and any alarm signals on the various floors, switched-off, * allow the communication link to be terminated; * allow the luminous alarm inside the lift to be switched off. \, Wating:the alarm cali can only be answered after the emergency service operator has entered the DTM as code. [ea Wattior a the slat of ranriasion of the message recehvad by the emergency service operator isnot linked to the moment the operator actually connects to the line, he may only hear a part of the message. For this reason, the message is repeated continuously at approximately 3 second regular intervals until the operator enters the DTMF code to activate the direct voice link allowing him to communicate with the people who activated the alarm. J's Warning: the system will only shut down if it recognises the DTMF shutdown code entered by the ‘emergency service operator. ‘Warning: the telephone equipment of the emergency service switchboards receiving the 4 dialled telephone numbers must operate in multi-frequency. Ifthe telephone link is cut-off or the wrong DTMF code ‘is dialled or not dialled at all to deactivate the voice link the red Led LD1 on the circuit board (Annex 1, page 17) flashes once every 2 seconds and the system is automatically deactivated after about10 minutes so as not to engage the line permanently TGV. The outside call is automatically switched over to the system which previously sent the emergency alarm, The outside call can also be made by mobile phones enabled to send DTMF codes. The DTMF codes used to call the emergency service from the lift must be used to activate or deactivate the direct voice link: Warning : The telephone line needed for the communication with the lift car must be a specially devised line. A telephone for ordinary use can be connected to this line provided that it is connected to TELOUT terminals of the main circuit board of MOX ( Annex 1, page 17). If Mox system is activated, this cornmunication has the priority on the ordinary use of the telephone and calls under way will be cut off Itis available a relay switch to control the opening of a gate or an entrance door to the building where the liftis installed Virtually, by calling the system from outside and using a prearranged DTMF code, it is possible to control any device operated by a remote control This is especially useful in the event the operator has to assist the users in the lift car.
