Letter of Recommendation for Pascale Thomas — High School Counselor.
December 19, 2011
1am very pleased to have this opportunity to provide a reference for Pascale
Thomas.
I have known Pascale both professionally and personally for the past 6 years
since she and her husband first came to Ruamrudee International School.
As a school psychologist with particular responsibility for the Elementary
‘School I was fortunate to work closely with Pascale when she took up the
position as Elementary School Counselor.
Pascale is a very dedicated professional with a complete commitment to her
role in the school. She relates very well to young students and took an active
role not just in working with the students referred to her individually but also
in building therapeutic relationships with the whole Elementary school. She
had a strong commitment to presenting whole class lessons designed to build
positive relationships and develop friendship skills.
Pascale was also involved in working with students in Middle School when it
was felt that a woman was the more appropriate choice. As always, she
demonstrated a sensitive, caring approach to students who were troubled and
set out to understand thelr difficulty and find ways to support them in thelr
individual circumstances. She relates well to other professionals and
demonstrates a strong ability to work co-operatively.
Pascale is an excellent communicator. She listens well to the perspective
presented by others and Is able to make a valuable contribution to decisions
about students. Getting the best outcome for students Is always a priority for
Pascale and she will work with great dedication to ensure any student is cared
for in the most appropriate way.
When moving to High School Pascale demonstrated that she Is very capable
also, when working with older students. She displayed great enthusiasm and
immediately began to work to strengthen her skills and knowledge base for
College counselling. Pascale Is very proactive in finding opportunities to
extend her knowledge of the options that she feels may suit students. She
considers each student wholistically as an individual and takes into account
the complete person. Pascale is very ready and skilled to provide students
with individual counselling to support them to deal with personal and family
issues. She thinks carefully about the presenting issues and gives her best
counsel to find solutions. When I left Ruamrudee I was very reassured to
know that Pascale would be “looking out for” students that I had previously
known. I knew that they would be in very safe hands and would be well
supported by Pascale. Her bright friendly personality is greatly appreciated by
the students she sees and many actively seek her out to spend time talking
about their concerns but also just to spend time in her friendly, caringcompany. She provides a safe environment for all ~ not just students but also
for teachers who need someone to give support and to iisten.
Professional Development is very Important for Pascale, She seeks out
opportunities to extend her skills and gain new approaches to her work.
Attending training to learn new approaches and programmes to eliminate
bullying is very important to Pascale and she has invested significant time in
learning and implementing new approaches.
On a personal level, Pascale is deeply committed to her husband and family.
She is a true partner both emotionally and professionally to her husband —
Kevin - and is a very committed responsible mother who will do everything
she can to give her children the best of family life.
As a well rounded personality she has a number of outside interests in
sporting and other lelsure areas and is able to discuss a wide range of topics
and interests.
Pascale actively maintains a wide circle of friends and extended family. She
has a great sense of humour and because of her good personal adjustment is
able to offer support in many ways through the school community.
Lam very happy to have this opportunity to share some of Pascale’s
attributes and would highly recommend her to any school. I know that she Is
very well equipped to work at any level of International school life and wish
her the very best wherever her travels may take her to next. Any school will
benefit greatly from her participation in the faculty and school life.
