Letter of Reference: Pascale Thomas
To Whom It May Concern:
Pascale has been at Ruamrudee International School (RIS) for the last six years. She is a member of the
counseling department, working with five other colleagues to serve our students and parents. Pascale
has taken an active role in pushing for improvements within the counseling services offered at RIS.
Often staying well past the end of the scheduled work day, Pascale demonstrates her dedication
through the multiple activities she leads. Pascale has been an asset to the school and will leave the
school in a better place than when she arrived.
Pascale has been a counselor at the high school for the past two years after moving up from the
elementary school. During that time she has set herself apart from others in the department because of
her dedication to students, strong work ethic, and passion for service. She brought Naviance to our
counseling department, carefully and thoughtfully working through the resistance of her colleagues. In
November, when Thailand was being flooded, Naviance proved itself useful and Pascale was
commended for being the impetus behind Naviance at RIS. Pascale is very strong in pastoral care and is
often called upon to assist our school psychologists, even if the student is not part of her alpha group.
This year, RIS brought on a new transition program for students moving from grade 8 to grade 9.
Pascale was tabbed to lead the program and made it very successful. Many hours of planning and
preparation were required to launch the LINK program at RIS. Working with her student leadership
‘team, Pascale made the inaugural program exciting and welcomed the class of 2015 with a bang. The
skills necessary to lead this program are not possessed by many educators. Being in front of hundreds of,
students and acting ‘silly’ to help build unity requires a special personality. Pascale has it!
During her time at the school, Pascale has also coached multiple sports at the varsity and junior varsity
level. Her teams have been successful in our local and regional competitions. She is prepared for
practice each day, and is passionate about helping the students reach their potential. She has reached
out to the greater school community and found volunteers to come in and work with her teams,
providing extra coaching and expertise. Again her organization and communication have allowed her to
successfully work with students and provide a positive extra-curricular experience,
| often tell students and adults that we need to leave a place better than when we arrived. Pascale has
invested her time and talents to make improvements in the programming at Ruamrudee International
School. Her work as a counselor, coach, activity leader, and as a member of the RIS family has allowed
Pascale to leave RIS better than when she arrived. There are people who make a difference in the world,
but few will work as hard as Pascale and make such a positive difference.
Enthusiastically,
