Letter of Recommendation for Ms Pascale Thomas
‘This is the third year Pascale has been with us at Ruamrudee as the Elementary School
Counselor. It is my great good luck to provide clinical supervision for Pascale in my role as
Director of Pupil Services. She is a dream to work
Pascale is a gifted and highly motivated counselor for our elementary students. She is in
possession of a very wide repertoire of professional and personal skills and performs her
duties with dedication and energy. This makes Pascale a very complete advocate for children.
Her profound understanding of child development underpins her work as does the fact that
Pascale comes from an international school background herself. Her professional expertise
draws from a number of knowledge bases and she is comfortable and competent in dealing
with the many different matters and people that land on the counselor's doorstep.
An administrator can rest more easily knowing that Pascale is responsible for educational and
welfare matters at school. She is a true collaborator and a trusted workmate. The faculty
readily seeks her guidance and asks for assistance on a range of personal and professional
‘matters (including some very complex matters). During her tenure at Ruamrudee Pascale has
provided compassionate guidance for students and faculty following the death of two of our
teachers.
Pascale faci ly
attended to in a timely and appropriate manner that is guided by principles of best practice.
Pascale is an active member of a number of school wide committees including that for school
improvement, career education, WASC accreditation and bullying prevention.
‘We are now celebrating Anti Bullying Week. Pascale has been a driving force in planning for
this week and has prepared lessons in cyberbullying and the influence of bystanders that will
bbe taught in homerooms from elementary through to Grade 12. She has also collaborated with
others to prepare and coordinate a number of other activities based on this theme. Pascale
teaches a guidance lesson from the Second Step program to all elementary school students
This program addresses the development needs of students as they are reflected in their
respectful relationships with others.
Pascale is an intuitive counselor and provides effective and helpful counseling for teachers,
students and their families. This area of professional practice is much enhanced by being a
mother of three young children. She knows what works and students and parents feel helped
when Pascale intervenes with seemingly just the right thing to do. It seems intuitive but
perhaps is more about her very developed ability to truly listen to people. Pascale is able to
address very complex situations such as parenting, divorce and separation, child abuse and
death and dying.
Pascale cares deeply about her work. If you are lucky enough to find Pascale applying for a
position at your school I think you should just ask her when she can start.
Sine ly ‘yours, J y
