CYANIDE TEST KIT Range 0-0.3 mg/L MODEL CYN-3 Cat. No. 2010-02 ‘TO ENSURE ACCURATE RESULTS PLEASE READ CAREFULLY BEFORE PROCEEDING. This procedure registers only free cyanide, not complexed cyanides. total cyanide value is required — Le, value for both tree and com- plexed cyanide (copper, cobalt, iron and nickel cyanides) — an acd dstilation must be performed prior to anaiysis. A procedure for sample pretreatmentis given in the APHA Standard Methods for the Examination of Water and Wastewater, 15th edition, page 317, ‘Twenty minutes are required for complete color development at 25°C. If the sample is colder, a longer time will be required; if warmer, a shorter time willbe required, Read the sample when a pure blue color develops. A red to purple color indicates incomplete development. A blue-green color implies the color has developed past the point of making a reading, TEST INSTRUCTIONS: 1. Ifthe water sample is turbid, fiter it before testing as follows: Place a piece of folded fiter paper in the funnel and set it on top of the square mixing bottle, Pour the sample on the fiter paper and allow enough to pass through to fill the square bottle to the shoulder. 2. Use the clippers to open one HexaVer™ Powder Pilow. Add the contents ofthe pillow tothe mixing bottle, Swir to mix as shown in Fig- wre 1. 3. Add tne contents of one CyaniVer™ 3 Cyanide Reagent Powder Pilow to the mixing bottle. Swi to mix.
