The Word Picture- Humanity at its Worst
Its a calm afternoon, with the shadow of the tall buildings covering the street. In the
middle of the sidewalk are four men in black business suits. They have one foot elevated on top
of a metal stand meanwhile each man in a black suit stares at their feet. They are getting their
black shoes polished by individual men, one which has a dirty shirt without sleeves, who are
sitting down on tiny stools in front of them.
The reason I picked this picture was because it was strong in telling us on how our
society is today. We sometimes can blinded by the things going on in our lives that we dont
notice how there are people without homes, without money, and they dont have help from
anyone other than themselves. The man in the picture was probably trying his hardest to polish
those beautiful shoes but at the end he doesnt even get a tip. We have all had our hard times
from time to time but we are cruel human beings that we cant even look at the people, who are
starving in the street, straight in the eyes.
