You might also want to discuss the amount of time students should spend revising © Before students begin a test, spenda few minutes looking through it with the class and make sure that everyone understands how to do each type of activity. © We do not recommend that you evaluate students’ speaking in the same lesson as the other skills because testing speaking can be time-consuming. Use any speaking activity or the paitwork activities in.the Teacher's Resource Pack (Worksheets booklet) to assess students’ speaking. As students do the activities, move around the class giving students marks for fluency, pronunciation, accuracy and task achievement. The peaple believe that a community of cobras (dangerous snakes) have protected them from a series of dangers. The latest incident took place this week. Robbers were trying to break into a house in the village when two cobras appeared outside the house and attacked. One of the robbers was bitten before they escaped A few days earlier, on 26th October, a mother had left her baby daughter ac home while she went to work in the fields. The baby was alone when three wild dogs came towards her. But the dogs ran away when a cobra suddenly appeared in front of the baby. Witnesses said that the snake stayed near the child until her mother returned. This followed another incident the day before. A village family said that a cobra had entered their house and scared them, so they had run outside. A few moments later, the walls of the house started to move, and the house fell to the ground. Experts said that they were going to send a team to investigate these reports. 8 Are the sentences true or false? 1 The earliest incident rook place on 25th October. 2 Arobber gota snake bite after he had broken into the house. 3. We arrived on the island at Mombela - that's a small town on the south coast. We knew that we couldn't go directly north from there because of the mountain range which is very high. So we decided to follow the river from Mombela to the border town of Zantubi, There weren't any boats so we had to go on foot. The river took us through the jungle. It took us five days to get to Zantubi When we got to the border, it was a disaster. We weren’tallowed co go across the border - the guards told us that we hadn’t got the correct papers. We stayed there for two days and we argued alot, but che guards insisted that we had to go back to Mombela to get our papers signed at the government office. We definitely didn’t want to do that! The walk through the jungle had been a nightmare, So we decided to go straight to Belville, which is the island’s main town.
