CONCLUSION

First the soil is oven dried, then all lumps are broken into small particles before they
are passed through the sieves. The figure below is a set of sieves in a sieve shaker
used for conducting the test in laboratory. After the completion of the shaking period
(10 minutes), the mass of soil retained on each sieve is determined. The results of
sieve analysis are generally expressed in terms of percentage of total weight of soil
that passed through different sieves. In this experiment we will know about the grade
of soils by refer on the graph.
