Heather worked as our secretary in our Student Success Centre for her co-op placement for her program, Office Administration, Executive. I am currently the Acting Manager of Student Services, and I have found Heathers work ethic and initiative astounding. Our department was very fortunate to have Heather on our staff this summer, for she clearly stands out as an exceptional team player in our key front line position in the office. Heather is collegial with everyone in our college community and instilled a positive environment for students in distress. In her time in our Student Success Centre, in addition to her everyday duties, some of the other things Heather achieved were: Created power point presentations to support staff and administrator presentations. Researched and developed a poster for excellent apps about mental health. Organized resources in an efficient manner for counsellors. Reviewed and purged outdated files to make sure everything was up to date. Asked staff how she could help and offered her services to everyone on the team. Attended Mental Health First Aid Training for Professional Development. Recorded concise notes from meetings to help the team with follow-up actions. Greeted students and staff with a pleasant demeanor. Worked as a student helper with our Get Set for Success Orientation Program. Excelled in various computer skills for special projects. Investigated numerous resources for staff for professional reading and development. Heather exudes a zest for learning, and this permeated throughout our office this summer. She always put students first and continuously looked for ways to enhance the procedures currently being used at the front desk. Often, I would receive feedback form other co-workers about Heathers excellent interpersonal skills, technological expertise and time management strategies. I highly recommend Heather for an office administration position. Sincerely,
Jennifer Babin Acting Manager, Student Services, Niagara College Canada
