What is exorcism?
In Compendium of the Catechism of the Catholic Church, Exorcism is
defined when the Church asks with its authority in the name of Jesus
that a person or object be protected against the power of the Evil One
and withdrawn from his dominion, it is called an exorcism. This is done
in ordinary form in the rite of Baptism. A solemn exorcism, called a
major exorcism, can be performed only by a priest authorized by the
bishop.
I wasnt afraid of watching Liwanag sa Dilim anymore because in
Theo 102, Fr. Santiago viewed that film for us. However, that didnt
stop me from listening to it, which made understanding of it widened. I
have learned that the causes of demonic possessions are oppression
and too much anger. When I heard about this, I was scared because
honestly there were times when I develop bitterness to other people.
So in order to make up for it, it would be best to pray and ask for Gods
forgiveness. It was also said that one of the windows for bad spirit is
the lucky charm which is why I was surprised because for 18 years, I
have been collecting little objects yet Ive learned that it was never
necessary for me to do that, just have faith to the Lord. I also
understood that exorcism must be taken care of in the Church, by a
priest assigned to that task. This is because blessings of Christ are
more powerful than the power of the demon. I was relieved when the
speaker brought up the ways on how to avoid the demon: (1) Pray and
give importance to the word of God; (2) Take care of ones health
because if would be easy for the demon to attack if emotional aspect
isnt in good condition; (3) Interact with people in love and in prayer,
(4) Dont try or do something that you know is bad and (5) Receive the
Holy Eucharist, the blessed sacrament regularly.
Like Jesus, when troubled, we must come to God not to anybody else.
