1. Build a Mission
As part of our social studies curriculum, your child is studying the
11/2/2015
Spanish missions, which are an important part of Texas history.
They have begun research at school and this will be used to create
11/4/2016
a report to demonstrate their learning. This work will be done
Final Due Date
primarily at home with some school time given for research and
designing.
11/6/2015
Creativity and parent participation is encouraged! However, I ask
that the final product be your childs work. There are a variety of
on-line resources, video clips and books to give you ideas about how to complete the project.
Simply Google Texas Spanish Mission Project and youll see a variety of ideas. There are
also kits available for purchase, however I encourage you to use items around your home
this will be more meaningful for your child.
One final guideline please build your mission on a base that is no larger than
24 x 24 inches. Grading will be based upon the historical accuracy of the mission not how
perfect it is!
