Your Excellencies, may it please this Honorable Court.

I am Sidney Malicay, second

counsel for the prosecution. As mentioned by my co-counsel, I will be arguing for the
second charge for the next 15 minutes.
If Your Excellencies have no preliminary considerations, I shall now proceed to my
presentation. *wait for reaction* Thank you, Your Excellencies.
The Prosecution submits that General Reed should be charged for committing the war
crime of intentionally directing attacks against a hospital under Article 8(2)(b)(ix) on the
basis of individual criminal responsibility for [choose one that you elect in your
memorial] ordering, soliciting and inducing under Article 25(3)(b).
[speech proper...]
Your Excellencies, this ends my presentation for the second charge. Once again, it is
respectfully submitted that the war crimes charged against General Smith be confirmed.
If this Honorable Court has no further questions, I will now give the floor to my cocounsel to present our remaining submissions. May it please this Honorable Court.
Reminder:
1. PUT SIGN POSTS IN YOUR SPEECH.
2. MAKE YOUR SHORT. BRIEF. CONCISE. Since youre given 15 minutes each,
make a speech thats around 6-7 minutes only to give you enough time to
address the questions of the judges.
3. When a judge asks you, be polite. Agree if the judges point is helpful to your
charge. If you disagree, do so in the following manner or in ways similar:
a. I understand your concern/point, Your Excellencies, however, [state your
position on the matter].
b. I understand, Your Excellencies, however, [state your position on the
matter].
c. While it may be true that [state his point], however, the Prosecution
submits that [state your position on the matter].
d. Yes, Your Excellencies, however, [state your position on the matter].
4. Answer the judges questions right away. Dont say you will discuss the matter
later in your speech.
5. In questions answerable with a yes or a no, answer first with yes or no before
explaining or citing whatever.
6. When asked about the facts, its always more impressive to the judges if you can
cite the paragraph youre referring to. So try to master the facts as much as
possible.
7. Always be respectful towards the judges.
8. No need to be aggressive; this isnt a debate.
