This source presents the notion that media influences the behavior of the viewers. For
example, have you ever watched a Marvel movie and then acted like one of the heroes? Similarly,
one might impersonate behaviors more sinister than just that. Our thoughts can even be changed by
the media we view.
As media becomes more and more popular, society stops using more productive forms of
entertainment. Children are on the internet instead of reading books or playing outside. They come
in contact with things inappropriate for their age and it influences their behavior.

This source explains a theory called the Dune Effect. The Dune Effect is that those who
control mass media have potential control of the people. Everyone can be perceptible to
propaganda, which operates hand in hand at times with media.
Often, the way information is presented to us subconsciously controls us. For example, if
someone is introduced as an expert we are more likely to believe what they have to say. In this way,
media can control and influence the receiving audience.

Media and the world itself is becoming more and more homogenous. This is a benefit to
large corporations, who own and control the media. Through this homogenization, they can more
easily spread their views and their own interests.
However, we as the people do not recognize that our own thoughts are being influenced by
the elite. We dont seem to connect that the films and news shows we watch are owned by the
powerful and influence our opinions.
