doneinAvestaandVediclanguagesprovethatthespringofthe
bothcivilizationswassame.Lateron,severalpoliticaland
geographicalreasonscausedgradualdriftbetweenboththe
civilizationsandtheystartedmovingapartfromeachother.But
actuallythesoulsofthebothcountriesareconnectedtothesame
chord.Andthisiswhywecanseethatpoeticsymbolsusedinthe
literatureofthebothcountriesareverymuchsimilar.Becauseof
geographicandothersociologicalfactoronecanseeapparent
differencesbetweentwoliteratures,neverthelessthereisan
underlyingaffinitybetweenthetwowhichisvisiblethroughoutthe
longtraditionofliteraryhistory.ThispaperaimsatshowingthatIran
andIndiaisveryclosenotonlyonthegroundofethnicityor
languagebutalsoonthelevelofliterarytaste.Shahreyarcanbe
takenarepresentativepoetofthewholePersianliterarytraditionin
themoderntime.Thelimitationofthepaperisthattheexamplesof
Persianpoeticsymbolshavebeenchosenfromthepoetryof
MuhammadHoseynShahreyar.
