The ENIAC is revealed in Pennsylvania.

ENIAC, in full Electronic Numerical Integrator
and Computer, ENIAC the first
programmable general-purpose electronic
digital computer, built during World War II by
the United States.

Cold war begins 1947.


the open yet restricted rivalry that
developed after World War II between
the United States and the Soviet Union
and their respective allies. The Cold
War was waged on political, economic,
and propaganda fronts and had only
limited recourse to weapons.

57,628 polio cases were reported in the


United States in 1952, more than 21,000 of
them paralytic cases. This epidemic
heightened parents fears of the disease and
focused public awareness on the need for a
vaccine.
This was the worst outbreak in the hole
history of the nation

First Polio Vaccine Developed. 1953.


Introduced by Jonas Salk, in 1953 he gives the
vaccine to his family proving that it works.
