Classrooms should be student-centered.

I want my students to feel like

they are an important part of their own education. I will keep my
classroom student-focused by centering instruction on their interests. If
students are interested it makes a difference in their ability to
achieve. A positive, warm environment is central to a successful
classroom. I want my students to feel good in my classroom; it should
be warm, colorful, and safe. I want to provide students with a
comfortable, stimulating and functional atmosphere that emphasizes
learning and positive interaction. To make this a reality, I will pay close
attention to desk arrangement, center placement, bulletin boards and
artwork. While environment is important to a successful classroom, I do
not want to underemphasize the importance of content and teaching
methods. I plan to differentiate instruction in my classroom to ensure
that all students are learning. I believe in helping children succeed to
their fullest, no matter what their ability or background may be. I want
students to feel like my classroom is a place they can express
themselves without feeling scared or judged. Every child can learn if
given the opportunity.
