Dear Human Resources:
Please accept this letter of application to apply to be a firefighter-EMT. I learned of the opening through a brochure. I am confident that my strong volunteer background and successful completion of two years of college have helped me to feel confident in applying for this position. I am currently in college now to complete my Bachelor of Arts degree at Carthage College. I plan to earn a degree in Business and health management. Ever since I found this brochure I have been excited. I checked online and found a few test sites for the CPAT exam which I am eager to become eligible to take. During the summer months of my high school education, I was able to volunteer intern at Rush Medical Center, Gross Anatomy Lab and Henry Ford Hospital Pathology Lab for the Student in Residence Program. It was during these three years that I knew I wanted to enter the healthcare professional. In my work at the labs, I was responsible for cadavers and lab maintenance. I was responsibilities for studying and examining bodily fluids and tissues of the deceased. I provided laboratory test results to the patient's primary care physician for accurate diagnosis and proper treatment as well as determined causes of death. This was accomplished through shadowing doctors in the field. The most fun I had in the lab was when I worked as assistant to the Denier. During the lessons for Med-Students and Doctors, I would assist in performing procedures like a thoracic autopsy. They were amazed because I was still in high school. I believe that after successful completion of my application and exam, I will make a great career in the health field. I am motivation, eager and ready to serve the City of Chicago. Please consider this letter as an expression of my sincere interest in taking the test for the firefighter-EMT position. If there are any questions, I may be reached at eddierobbins5@gmail.com or (313) 617-0600. I look forward to the opportunity to test for a position with the City of Chicago as a FirefighterEMT. Thank you for your consideration. Sincerely, Edward Robbins
