Gagne's work is all about condition of learning theory.

It focuses on
intentional or purposeful learning, which is a type of learning that
occurs in school. Gagne believed that events in the environment
influence the learning processprocess. once the learning outcomes are
identified, an analysis of the condition that govern learning an
remembering occur.
He claims that the presence of the performance does not make it
posible to conclude that learning has occured; but instead, it is
necessary to show that there has been change in performance.
Therefore, the capability for exhibiting the performance before learning
requires consideration as well as the capability that the capability that
exist after learning.
Gagne also introduces the 9 events of instruction which are:
1. Gaining attention
2. informing learners of the objective
3.stimulating recall of prior knowledge
4. Presenting the stimulus
5. Providing learning guidance
6. Eliciting performance
7. Providing feedback
8. Assessing performance
9. Enhancing retention and transfer
This 9 summarises the learnin g theory of Gagne.
