STATISTICAL SUPPLEMENT Economic Survey | 1999-2000 PREFACE The Statistical Supplement 1999-2000 attempts to complement the data published in the Economic Survey, which was released prior to the presentation of the Federal Budget. The analysis of social and economic development carried out in the Economic Survey is based on the data available for 8 to 10 months due to time constraint. The Economic Adviser's Wing subsequently publishes annually Statistical Supplement to update the data/information for the fiscal year as a whole. We have made every effort to present accurate, and concise time series data on financial, economic, and social sectors both at the aggregate level and sector-wise for the convenience of policy-makers, researcher, academicians and other users. 1 am grateful to all the Ministries/Departments/ Organizations for providing data to Economic Adviser Wing to enable it to publish the Statistical Supplement in time. I also appreciate the hard work done in compiling the Statistical Supplement by the Officers and Staff of the E.A. Wing Readers are welcome to provide suggestions for improvement of the Statistical Supplement.
