"Equilibrium" is a film that mainly revolves around the story of forbidding people to feel any
emotions. Emotions, as they have concluded, caused the Third World War so in order to prevent
the fourth, authorities thought of making it illegal and by having people take daily doses of a drug
called Prozium in order for them not to feel emotions. Sense offenders, or those who feel emotions
are being caught by the authority to be imprizoned and executed.

Although the film is entertaining and wonderfully done, there are still some scenes and
concepts in the movie that seem ridiculous. For instance, I have noticed that the main character,
John Preston, and even the other authorities, use martial arts techniques when fighting and even
while using their handguns. Martial art is a form of art and emotion so it's confusing that they, who
practice art, are not labeled as sense offenders. Another scene that I have remembered is when
Brandt, Preston's partner, felt angry when it was he who was caught by the authorities instead of
Preston for suspicion of being a sense offender. Anger is still considered as emotion. It is not only
limited to being happy, sad, or in love so this concept of the movie made me very confused. Also, in
the scene where Preston is killing the gunmen, he is wearing an outfit in pure white. In real life, a
person wearing an all white outfit would've torn some parts of his clothing or would have been
covered in blood and dirt if he had fought a lot of people. But in this movie, after that scene, he
wasn't even scratched or bruised and his outfit was still spotless and intact which seems to be
impossible as to what I have said earlier if it happens in real life.

Even though there are flaws and concepts that are not well thought of, overall I consider this
to still be a good movie because it is undoubtedly entertaining to watch as it also has a good
lesson for viewers to learn.
