Impacts of the Newly Established Sky Ranch Pampanga to the

Local Residents of San Fernando, Pampanga

Introduction
The theme park Sky Ranch was under the management of SM
Corporation that owns by Mr. Henry Sy Sr. SM or shoe mart then was
founded on October 1958 in downtown Manila. It started as a small shoe
store that sells cheap American shoes that has become big and is now
known to be the leading mall in the country. SM Corporation does not only
operate malls. They also operate banks, condominiums and recently
opened a theme park.
The first theme park that was built under the management of SM
Corporation was the Sky Ranch Tagaytay. It is a leisure park that is
envisioned to be one of the definitive Tagaytay experiences for local and
foreign tourists alike. It started its operation last January 2013. Sky
Ranch Tagaytay held the title to have the Tallest Ferris Wheel in the
Philippines. SM Corporation opened their second theme park last
November 26, 2014 at San Fernando in Pampanga. SM Corporation
decided to put up a branch of the Sky Ranch at the Northern part of the
Philippines for the northerners to enjoy and experience without travelling
a long way. The Sky Ranch Pampanga was located just behind the SM
Pampanga.
This study aimed to identify the following:
1. the advantages and disadvantages of the Sky Ranch
Pampanga to the locals of San Fernando with the age
ranging from 18 years old and above;
2. gender of the majority of theme park goers and,
3. civil status of the theme park goers and as to their
profession and education
Statement of the Problem
1. What is the demographic profile of the participants in
terms of:
a. age;
b. gender and,
c. civil status

2. What are the advantages and disadvantages of the newly


established Sky Ranch Pampanga to the local residents of
San Fernando, Pampanga?
3. What are the impacts of the newly established Sky Ranch
Pampanga to the local residents of San Fernando,
Pampanga in terms of:
a. advantages
b. disadvantages
Research Method
The research method that will be used in this study is the Mixed
Methods Research (Multimethodology). The researchers will be needing
to conduct a survey and interview to gather more information needed for
the study.
