Diploma or GED required ‘CPR and First Aid certification required General clerical and computer skills required Good people and writing skills Ability to work under pressure a must JOB GOAL: ‘Assist the school nurse by maintaining order and organization in the school clinio, entering documentation both on the ‘computer and in student fle, assisting with care of students and dealing with the pubic by phone, in writing or in person as, needed, ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES inciude the following, 1. Receive students, parents or visitors. Communicate effectively with students, teachers, parents, staff and the public 10 give and receive information, interpret, respond to inquiries, supervise students and student workers. Document illnesses ‘and injuries. Deal effectively with injuries and itnessos of students. Administer frst aid in accordance with schoo! dvision regulations. (American Red Cross guidelines). Maintain a sanitary environment in the clinic. Dispense medications as directed by the school nurse and in accordance with school division regulations (Board of Nursing, TEC). Serve as the unlicensed diabetes care assistant for the campus {training provided) Organize data, performs numerical calculations, data entry and alphabetizing. Operate a computer, applicable software (including spreadsheets and word processing), and standard office equipment effectively. Duplicate materials, generate ‘correspondence, order supplies, prepare reports, and maintain records (Le. immunizations, screenings, and emergency cards) and log as directed. 6. Maintain confidentiality at all times and is flexible and able to multi-task as needed. 7. Perform other duties as assigned. WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work is performed in a clinic environment, with exposure to medications, student accidents, ilness, bodily fluids and Cleansers. It requires siting, standing, walking, running at times, crouching, stooping & kneeling. Lifting is needed at times. ‘The work can be stressful as deadlines mount and clinic traffic increases.
