QTC Registered Professional Development

The Quality Teaching Council (QTC) plays an important role in improving the status of the
teaching profession, advising BOSTES about teacher accreditation, quality teaching initiatives
and the endorsement of professional development providers.
A logo has been developed to enable you to quickly and easily identify QTC Registered
Professional Development (PD) courses.

What does this mean?

Endorsed providers are now promoting QTC Registered PD courses via the display of the QTC
Registered PD logo.
Wherever you see this logo beside a course it indicates that it is Registered Professional
Development that will count towards the maintenance of your accreditation.
It could look something like this:

This full day professional development course will


explore the various learning principles of XYZ-123s
unique teaching styles and approaches.
Participants will workshop in groups to deepen their
understanding of the learning principles.
The course will include a final assessment that will
help participants to examine and improve on what
they have learnt.
There will also be time for reflection at the end of
the day, so participants can comment and share
their learning experiences.

Completing the Literacy and numeracy


workshop will contribute 6 hours and 30
minutes of QTC Registered PD addressing
6.2.2 from the Australian Professional
Standards for Teachers towards maintaining
Proficient Teacher Accreditation in NSW.
