4 If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be? What sort of house would you live in?
4 Read these quotes about home and community. What do you think about them? Why?

Home is where the heart is.

A house is not a home unless it contains food and fire for the mind
as well as the body.
- Benjamin Franklin
One of the oldest human needs is having someone to wonder
where you are when you don't come home at night. - Margaret
Mead
They say that 'home is where the heart is.' I think it is where the house is, and the
adjacent buildings. - Emily Dickinson
If you don't visit the bad neighborhoods, the bad neighborhoods
are going to visit you.
- Thoman Friedman
Don't buy the house, buy the neighborhood. Russian proverb

Now make your own home and community saying. Share it with the class / your partner.

SPEAKING CHALLENGE!

Work with a partner. One person describes the floorplan of their house while the second person
draws. See how well you describe and how well your partner draws, then reverse roles.
e.g. When you enter my house, the living room is on the right, the stairs are in front of you and
there is a hallways to the left. The hallways goes past a small bathroom, on the left, and enters
the kitchen....
