Justice For
Jasmine

African American female who

was shot and killed December
23rd 2011 while standing in her
families front yard.
Two other people were injured
by the same bullet.
The shots came from across the
street from the home of a 23
year old Caucasian male.
He exclaims that the shot was a
accident, was taken into custody
and later released with no
charge.

Why I signed
this petition
I chose this petition because within the
past few years there has been to much
gun violence associated with race and
it needs to be stopped.
I feel like regardless of if he says that it
was an accident or not he still took
away a childs life to soon and should
be held accountable.
Even if it was found that it was an
accident he still should have been at
least charged with involuntary
manslaughter and had some type of
punishment for his crime.
Its hard to actually prove if it was
indeed an accident or if it was
motivated by racism but what type of
message is being portrayed when a
white male shoots and kills a black
female and gets to roam free while her
family mourns the loss of their baby.
My signature might not have made a
difference but its one more person who
feels that this was not right and
something should be done about it.
