10SportsPlaysatPineLake,IparticipateinTriM,SpanishClub,PepBand,andSpiritClub.I
alsohaveastrongpassionforUltimatefrisbee,scubadiving,andmartialarts.Istartedkarate
whenIwas3inNYandreceivedmyfirstdegreeblackbeltinMayof2012attheageof14.I
beganscubadivingthroughthePLPsummercampin2010andamontracktobeaMasterDiver
beforeIgraduatehighschool.MybiggestinterestisUltimateIbeganplayingin5thgradeat
PLPandhopetoplayincollegeandeventuallyprofessional.Iplaywithmyhighschoolteamas
wellaslocaladultteamsinthesummer.Creatingandleadingmyownteamhastaughtmetobe
agood,fair,andrespectfulleader.IhavealsobeenawardedateamMVPin2015,andCharlotte
UltimateadultleagueMVPinthesummerof2014.

IchosetodomyPrideProjectonMarineBiology.Ihavehadalifelongloveofallanimals,butit
waswhenIlearnedtoscubadivewhenIdiscoveredmypassionfortheoceananditsinhabitants.
Afterwritingmyresearchpaper,IstillamconfidentIwantmyfutureoccupationtorelateto
scubadivingandmarinebiology,butIamstillunsureofwhichspecificareaIwishtoworkin.
ThisfallIwillbeapplyingtoUNCWhopingtodoublemajorinmarinebiologyandfilmstudies
whilealsominoringindigitalart.

FormyPrideProduct,Ichosetocreateanunderwaterenvironmentinordertobeabletostudy
variousunderwaterwildlifeinanaturalhabitat.Iplantogatherinformationfrommymentor
aboutdifferentunderwaterlifeandresearchbeforepurchasingfishandcreatingtheenvironment.

Duringmypresentation,Iwillpresentphotos,videos,andmyobservationsofthemarinelifeas
wellasdocumentationofdesigning,building,andmaintainingtheunderwaterenvironment.My
personalgoalformyPrideProjectistomasterbasicskillsthatIwillmostlikelyneedasa
marinebiologistaswellaspasstheoverallproject.Thisproductwillbeastretchformebecause
Iwillhavetocompletelydesignandbuildmyownunderwaterenvironment,aswellasmaintain
thedifferentaspectsofthetanks.Myproductwouldtieinperfectlywithmytopicofmarine
biologybecauseitshowscertainskillsnecessarytobeabletoworkinthemarinebiologyfield.
