Skin

Strained she stops, sits, and stretches.

Slowly relieving her sore aching limbs;
Swiftly releasing all the pain that brought her here.
Storms of Self-worth bearing down on her slumped form,
Some emotional torrent washing away reality,
Salty, a tidal surge of emotion
Surmounting with a single tear.
Sobriquet for the tear inside her soul,
Sordid rift between self-esteem and self-loathing.
As the darkness descends, her gaze moves up.
A small glimmer of light, a glimpse of hope?
Acquiescing, she allows it to warm Herself.
Again the light dissipates, she is frozen.
An Eclipse seeming to push her back down.
An Eclipse meant only to lift her back up.
Again she is frozen, two supernovae.
Acquiescing, she clasps her hand onto his.
A small glimmer of light, a glimpse of hope?
As her body rises, the darkness falls.
Sullen, she smirks, nods, and turns.
Shirking away from a jaded past.
Slack sets her free to find her path eclipsed again.
Sparkling eyes mesmerized by her radiance,
Stark mirrors of truth reflecting who she is, not how she
sees.
Suddenly it occurs that she was blind.
Searching for herself in past reflections.
She deserves love of all imperfections.
Staring into stars, finally she sees her skin.
